Tin's Birthday

Postby AzizalSaqr » Sun Apr 13, 2008 2:21 am

I had posted this last month but wanted to pull it up again as we are within a few days of the event and I am getting ready to mail a Birthday Card out...if you would still like to take part in this, please pm me ASAP.

Thanks, JD

Tin's first birthday...

I was thinking that it might be nice to do something special in honor of Tin's first birthday and wondered how people felt about us starting a collection toward a donation to say "New Leash on Life" in Tin's name. The charity is one which we know Goran and Ivana support, they are the ones who organize the "Nuts for Mutts" dog show, but they also rescue and provide a no kill shelter. If we do the donations through my PayPal account, I can then just call and make the donation by phone, or people could even contact them directly if they are more comfortable doing that. I was thinking that a larger donation on behalf of the site and it's members might in turn draw a little more attention.

Thoughts? Here is a link for those who want more info on the charity:

Thanks in advance!

With the new photos released toay, and the Dogtown marathon on the National Geographic Channel, I thought I'd post a link here for those who might in the future, like to do something in Tin's name for his birthday.

Dogtown rescues animals from all over the Country, and houses them until homes or found or until they pass if they are unadoptable. You can sponser specific animals, send donations, or even gifts. I encourage you to visit the site, look at the photos and read the stories, but, I warn you, have tissues nearby, you will cry, especially when you read the stories of those who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Was just wondering if you all were interested in doing a donation, or card collection in honor of Tin's upcoming birthday? I'd be happy to do a bulk card mailing if people want to send cards to me (email me for my addy) and then I will seal everything in one package and mail them to the family, you could also make donations to a charity in his name and include those notes in the card, or enclose a small gift, maybe something local to where you live? Just tossing some ideas out there. I'll want to mail the package by the 10th of April to get it to him for his birthday, so, just let me know if you want to take part.

I'm not sure how many of you follow Cesar Milan/ The Dog Whisperer, however, one of his key pack dogs was an elderly Pit Bull named Daddy. Daddy recently passed away, his presence will be missed by many, but, as you can see, his spirit lives on.

I wanted to share the following as another donation option...

From:

DADDY TRIBUTE
Daddy was Cesar’s right hand dog since the beginning of Dog Whisperer. A pit bull who once belonged to rapper/performer Red Man, Daddy has assisted Cesar in countless rehabilitations. Daddy even assisted in the televised rehabilitation of Oprah Winfrey’s dog, Sophie. His solid presence was often a shock to problem dogs, but his energy ultimately taught them how to fit into the family unit’s “pack.”

To honor Daddy's legacy, the Daddy's Emergency Animal Rescue (DEAR) Fund has been established by the Cesar and Illusion Millan Foundation.

The DEAR Fund will provide assistance for dogs who are victims of abuse or violence, man-made disasters(hoarder and puppy mill rescues), and large-scale natural disasters (hurricanes, fires, and other natural catastrophes).

Thank you for honoring Daddy's memory with your donation.

(There is a donation widget at the link DEAR link, and more wonderful pics of Daddy on the article link.)
