About Oliver Dragojevic at Carnegie Hall
A native of Vela Luka on the island of Korcula, Dragojevic emerged onto the music scene in the 1970s thanks to the popular Split Festival, one of several musical annual music events from the former Yugoslavia still functional in Croatia today. His speciality was music influenced by Dalmatian folklore. His first domestic hit was called "Picaferaj" in 1967. Most of his early songs were written by popular songwriter Zdenko Runjic. One of the most famous was "Nadalina", which also featured actor Boris Dvornik, and the popular 'Dalmatian anthems' "Galeb i ja" and "Skalinada".
This October, Dragojevic will be touring in the United States. The Doors Art Foundation would like to invite you to come see him perform. Special guest Damir Urban, a popular Croatian musician known for his work with the bands Laufer and 4 will also be making an appearance. His tour date and location is as follows:
